Pak N Save: Know Before You Go

Pak N Save: Know Before You Go

Love it or hate it – Pak N Save is the closest thing Kiwis have to cheap groceries (and even that’s relative).

Since launching on our fair shores in 1985, stores have popped up all over the country with Kiwis falling over themselves to pack their bags to save money on their groceries.

We’ve laughed at the corny Stickman ads (which we all secretly love) and put our blinkers on trying to resist the Isle of Value that always sees us putting something in our trolley that we don’t need.

Yet, no matter how we try to shop at other supermarkets that pack our bags, the price savings keep bringing us back to the big warehouse-style yellow and black supermarkets.

There are a few things you should know before hitting up Pak N Save, so you can make the most of your visit. We’ve put together this handy guide to help you out.

Pak N Save Opening Hours

Most stores are open from 7am to 10pm, with some opening as early as 6am and closing as late as 11pm

Check the store locator on the Pak N Save website to find your nearest one and view their specific opening hours

Pak N Save Price Matching Policy

Which is better: Pak’n Save or Countdown?

This is a question that has been asked for years and there is no easy answer. It comes down to personal preference and what’s available in your area.

Many savvy shoppers prefer Pak’n Save and if you are near to a store, you should try them.

If you have to drive a long way to get there, the savings might not stack up. Carpooling with a neighbour can be a way to access savings with a lower fuel cost.
